I go by RubyJCat or Ruby J Shilan* and I'm a Chinese-Canadian indie/non-union voice actress. Having graduated with a degree in Computer Science, my favourite aspect of CS is multimedia. I'm fascinated by the combination of story-telling and visuals within the same medium, whether it be a comic book or a video game. I hope to create my own original series one day.
I started a YouTube channel in 2010 with uploads of Mario Paint Composer remixes of various songs from games and anime. Since 2014, the channel's focus shifted to voice acting content when I did a fandub of an RPG Maker game “The Gray Garden”.
I landed my first indie game voice over role in 2017 for “The Tenth Line”. I'm currently volunteering as a Voice Actor Manager for the fan web series “Danganronpa: Kill/Cure”.
